Industrial quality bending measurement tool!
If you’re looking to measure existing bends on a roll cage or other bent pipe installation, this is the tool for you! We cut these here in Oregon from the highest quality 12 gauge T304 Stainless available! We assemble these with a blend of extremely high quality Mil-Spec hardened steel and anodized aluminum hardware custom made for this application.
The Prototractor (Registered Trademark and Patent Pending) allows you to measure bend angles, tube cut lengths for bending, and complex angles of rotation between bending planes!
Broken down, these three measurements are:
- Bend angles: Any protractor can do this, but the Prototractor (R) does it with PVC pipe attached to the device, making it way easier to see what your final work will look like!
- Tube cut lengths: Very few tools do this. Laser engraved right on the stainless body of the tool, you have crystal-clear cut lengths for the bent section of tube being prototyped. This allows you to simply add up the straight sections and the bend length shown on the tool to get a complete cut length in seconds without any math other than addition.
- Rotation between bends: when you have multiple prototractors making up a multi-bend part, simply scribe on the pipe where the prototractor meets the pipe, and measure between the scribe lines using the measurement window. It reads out the degrees of rotation that you will rotate between bends in your tubing bender.
As you can see, this tool completely fills the gap between your cage-less car and your tubing bender. You now can go from concept to production without ANY waste. No more trying to un-bend tubing or trying to use tubes with the bend in the wrong place or with the wrong rotation between bends!
